American Heart Month

Many people associate the month of February with Valentine’s Day. While candy and paper hearts are nice, the Tulsa Health Department would like to remind everyone of the most important heart of all: your own.

Even if you have no obvious symptoms, you may still be at risk for heart disease. You can help lower your risk by taking steps to be heart healthy by eating a healthy diet, maintaining a healthy weight, be smoke free and limit your alcohol intake. You should also be active by exercising regularly.

There is power in knowing your numbers like blood pressure and cholesterol because they are important indicators of your health. When they are out of the normal range, it’s a sign that you could have a higher risk of developing certain diseases and conditions.

Let us help you understand what your numbers say about your health.

We provide free screenings that include:

Blood Pressure
Cholesterol – Full Lipid Panel
Hemoglobin A1C (No fasting required)
Body Mass Index
Waist to Hip Ratio Measurements
Test results reviewed with a Health Mentor

No appointment is needed. Screenings are done on a first-come, first-served basis. Click here for current schedule.
