TULSA, OK – [March 18, 2013] – The Tulsa Health Department’s North Regional Health and Wellness Center is hosting Teen Zone, a fun and free event for teens ages 13-19, on Friday March, 22nd from 1 to 4 p.m.

Teen Zone will feature free snacks, games and prizes.  105.3 KJAMZ will be broadcasting live music and a drunk driving simulator will be there to demonstrate the dangerous effects of driving while under the influence. In addition, teens will be provided with educational materials and have the opportunity to hold personal health consultations with professionals that can answer any questions they may have.

The event is sponsored by the Tulsa Health Department’s Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP). PREP specializes in empowering young adults to make proud and responsible decisions, as well as educating them about the dangers and risks associated with sexual activity. The goal of the program is to prevent teen births and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. PREP works with schools in Tulsa County, especially those that have the highest teen birth rates, in an effort to influence change and increase education.

The North Regional Health and Wellness Center is located at 5635 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
